JPMorgan Chase’s commitment to gender diversity and inclusion once again stands tall as we highlight our collaboration with Katalyst, an NGO that stands for the economic empowerment of women through STEM education.

The Tech for Social Good team champions programming that corrals the passion and skills of technologists and data scientists in our communities. The Tech for Social Good suite of programming is committed to doing good and delivering sustainable technology and data solutions for the communities we serve and support.

Katalyst, a nonprofit organization based in India, helps to create a world where girls are given an opportunity to achieve their biggest dreams. Founded in 2007 by Third Sector Partners, Katalyst empowers girls and exposes them to leadership roles, how to influence in society and enact social change in their communities. During a transformative four-year program, Katalyst participants are provided with one-on-one mentorship, access to the technology field, exposure to various industries in the corporate sector and more. In its tenure, Katalyst has changed the lives of 1.9k+ young women in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Delhi, and currently has over 850 more girls participating today.

Tech for Social Good flagship global programs, such as Code for Good and GenerationTech, have helped make the mission of Katalyst possible for its members. Through Code for Good, student participants across India were given a platform to solve real-world technological problems. The recent Code for Good social good hackathon gave participants the opportunity to team up with JPMorgan Chase technologists and data scientists to ideate tech protype solutions that will help Katalyst achieve their organizational mission.

Through GenerationTech—an ideation event that allows high schoolers to participate as social good changemakers—students were mentored by JPMorgan Chase technologists and data scientists, some of whom were Katalyst alumnae.

Tech for Social Good’s connection with Katalyst is more than a partnership, it helps empower people, reshape communities, and create a better world for everyone. This work echoes JPMorgan Chase’s commitment to diversity, inclusion and social responsibility.
