J.P.モルガン、日本における婚姻の平等の実現に関する提言に賛同

2019年9月18日、東京－J.P.モルガンは本日、在日米国商工会議所（ACCJ）が日本政府に対してレズビアン、ゲイ、バイセクシュアル、トランスジェンダー（LGBT）のカップルにも婚姻の権利を認めることを求める提言に賛同することを発表しました。

日本で婚姻の平等を確立することは、多様な従業員に対する公平な処遇による人材の採用と維持につながります。 法の下において婚姻の平等を実現させることによって、G7参加諸国における世界的なベストプラクティスおよび法的地位に準拠し、日本企業およびグローバル企業ともにおいて、性的指向または居住国に関わらず、すべての従業員に同一の基準および福利厚生ガイドラインを適用できるようになります。J.P.モルガンは、婚姻の平等がすでに法的に認められている米国、オーストラリア、台湾においても支援を公式に宣言しています。

J.P. MORGAN ANNOUNCES ITS SUPPORT FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY IN JAPAN

Tokyo, September 18, 2019 －J.P. Morgan today announced its endorsement of a recommendation by the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) for the Government of Japan to extend the right to marry to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) couples.

Instituting marriage equality in Japan will support the recruitment and retention of talent by treating the full diversity of the workforce equitably. Establishing marriage equality before the law would conform with global best practice and the legal status provided for by all other G7 countries, allowing both Japanese and global companies to apply the same standards and benefits guidelines to all of their employees, regardless of their sexual orientation or current country of residence. J.P. Morgan has, similarly, declared its public support for marriage equality in the United States, Australia and Taiwan where it is now legally recognized.

"Creating a diverse and inclusive environment is critical to our success, and we are deeply committed to hiring and retaining employees from different backgrounds, experiences and locations. With support in Japan already strong and growing for the right of same sex partners to marry, and with more municipalities and prefectures enabling couples to register their partnership, now is the time to establish their full and equitable legal status,” said Steve Rinoie, J.P. Morgan’s Senior Country Officer for Japan.
